ROGUE HIT
FORCE CONTROL SYSTEM
FORCE CONTROL SYSTEM
Hi All,
After several weeks of testing, I have found that to more effectively implement the higher rep, and faster rep set(s) of ROGUE HIT, that on some exercises you can "IMPROVE" the results, by using a system of "BANDS".
Heres the scoop:
In the higher rep sets of 15 - 30 reps, it is certainly obvious that even if you are using huge weightloads, that you must either "intentionally" back off your initial efforts to keep inertia from reducing the effort toward the "transition" from concentric to eccentric.
I noticed this early on, in my pulldowns, when I was able to acclerate over 250# fast enough to see the cable distort when I switched from concentric to eccentric.
So I attached elastic bands to the weight stack on my lat machine, so that they engaged the stack in a way that caused the band to engage and allowed me to pull as hard as I wanted without reaching terminal velocity.
This is the exercise where I personally made the greatest gains, and this is the only one where I used this system.
This added force also added an early acceleration to the eccentric so I was able to begin the eccentric braking action earlier and longer, and with a new smoothness.
The incredible "side benefit" here, is that this force matches the "exact" needs of the exercise, if the tension and length are adjusted correctly.
This then takes one of the criticisms of perfroming fast reps and completley eliminates it.
Inertia/momentum are controlled and where you might have expereinced a reduced force from such momentum, now you find a smooth introduction of force to not only counter what some might have perceived as a deficiency in the force curve, but you have corrected this, and added the ability to actually "apply full force" in a ROM that even when training slow is slightly reduced.
For those who are throwers, punchers, strikers, or just plain looking for speed or strength, this is what you want.
Now this is not new to me, since I have a whole system of band and chain implementation to weight loaded exercice called TRI-VECTOR that uses these very principles but in various force vectors.
To implement this system all you need to is attach the bands to your bar, dumbbells, or weight stack in such a way as to add the desired force the the weight.
Now since this is not as easy as it sounds, I have secured and purchased some durable and strong "ATTACHMENT STRAPS" that will easily attache to most any bar, dumbbell, or weight stack.
Now this adjustment does take a bit of trial and error to achive the best band load.
I have also created the set up so that it allows you to adjust the length of the band, and therefore when it engages, and how much force it adds and where.
You should likely keep the same weight loads as you have now or lighter, until you are familiar with the feel.
Part of the beauty of the system, is that in many exercises (like squats, benches, dips, or any action where you start at the top of the movement)when you first lift the load off the rack, the bands are fully engaged. This makes it feel heavier, and causes the CNS to regulate upwards the motor impulse.
This "excitation" is desirable and helps "train" the CNS even further.
You can also try just using this band application on the first set only, since it is the higher rep/lower load set that needs this the most.
Or you can use it on all sets to maintain the same feel.
I will add pricing for this set up, including an hour of consultation on how to use the system later today.
